Brain Hurts

It's always after the fact that I realize how much I learned this week. Okay, it's really Thursday nights when I come at 10:00 after being out of the house since 7:30 a.m. and I try and sleep. It's usually hard to do since my body is still physically running from the day and my mind is still trying to synthesize all the info it's learned from the week.

This week I learned that people are more worried about how they think people feel about them than people actually feel about them. I also learned how to deal with an ESL student in the Writing Center. I am watching and reading about Mormons for a Religion in Sociology paper and I also learned how to check some bold claims that people make in Statistics by testing the hypothesis. I helped organize a volunteer fair, voted for next semester's officers for PTK, found out that more people eat candy than drink soda in the Washington Science Building and I'm getting ready to take a trip this weekend. You would have a hard time sleeping on Thursday nights too!

This weekend my fellow Peer Tutors and some past tutors are
going to a Writing Center National Conference at the University of Connecticut. We are all piling into a DCC van with our teacher to attend this annual event. Should be very interesting. We each get to take a couple of chosen seminars, hear some speeches, eat some food but most important - have a good time, oh, and maybe pick up some useful tips for tutoring in the Writing Center!

If you are need something to do and can't make the free showing of Benjamin Buttons at DCC tonight (8:00, James and Betty Hall Theater, FREE!), I have plenty of homework you can do for me. Are you any good at hypothesis testing? Let me know by writing me at cathyfurlani@gmail.com or leave a comment below. I'll be sure to send it directly.

Enjoy!
