Time to Breathe

The last day of classes was almost sad. Almost! There was hugging and email address exchanges. I even saw one person in the parking lot looking at his ceramic project with a look of amazement. I not sure if it was because he didn't know what he made or because he got a good grade on it not knowing what it was. Events such as this happened all over campus.

I took advantage of the room Honors students claim as their own in the library. I pulled up a table to a couch (complete with handmade pillows from other Honors students), took my boots off, popped in my headphones and studied, studied, studied for my Spanish final.

When I arrived at class there was a note on the door that La Profesora was having car troubles and would be late. That was at 6:00. By 6:30 security came into our class and told us she would be there by 7:15. We all stayed and waited. What choice did we have? The final was 35% of our grade and I don't think anyone was brave enough to miss it. She did arrive before 7:15, all apologies and told us the test would start at 7:30 and she would be right back. By 7:50 I was a little worried, but she arrived with tests in her hands cursing the copy machines in the building.

The test was much easier than I thought it would be. I thought so anyway. Some people found it very difficult and told her over and over again at our dinner afterwards. By 9:00 we all finally went to the dinner we had planned and I didn't get home until 11:00. That's okay. That is the last time I have to do that until the week of January 14, 2008 when classes start again. We had a lot of laughs, more complaints about the test being hard and some excellent, large portioned, low priced Mexican food at Cabanitas's on Main Street. I told The Guy we need to add them into the rotation, and we will!

But now what to do? I have no books to carry, no tests to study for, no texts to read a lunch! Don't worry! There are stories to write, places to visit, holidays to celebrate and grades to wait for. There is still plenty to do and the next three weeks will go by very fast. I'll be talking about my new classes in no time.

I bet this laptop is no heavier than my books were. See, I'll have something to do at lunch after all!
