Snowed In

Wow! That certainly was a lot of snow last night, and now they are saying more for the weekend. This winter so far has been . . , well winter! It doesn't officially start until next weekend, so I can't image what will happen after that.

The official snowfall total at our house was 9.5 inches, and that measurement was taking with a highly scientific method - by sticking a yard stick out on the deck. Given its proximity to the house, and the slats that might allow snow to fall, I say it would be fair to add another 1/2 inch to that amount for total of 10 inches. That is an impressive snowfall amount!

Thanks for your votes yesterday. The consensus was to stay home and eat Cake instead of going to the show, and we did! The snow was the worst when we should have left for it, and we just weren't comfortable doing that. We stayed home and decorated the house for the holidays, listened to holiday music, baked cakes and addressed our holiday greetings instead.

Even after we did all that, when dinner was over and cleaned up, I looked around for something to do like a person that lost something. I had no homework! No textbooks to read, no essays to outline. It all seemed very strange to me. I wonder if I will be able to get used to this for the next couple of weeks. I bet as soon as I do, the Spring semester will start and I long for the time I had no homework and no texts to read.

Weekend plans? Shopping? Shoveling? Singing? All of the above? Let me know by dropping me a line at cathyfurlani@gmail.com or by leaving your comment below. Personally, I am practically done shopping, but we may go to movie and the mall anyway. We need one more gift! Tell me what you like or dislike about the holiday too. I'd love to hear from you.

Enjoy!
